It is easy to identify some of the challenges and opportunities in education. Actually doing something about it is much harder. Even with no formal background in education, Tanya Sheckley identified some opportunities for change and ended up founding UP Academy: an elementary lab school that engages children's senses wonder and curiosity by focusing on their academic, emotional and physical growth through a differentiated learning and project-based curriculum. In this episode, she talks about how she found herself starting a school, what her goals are, and what is happening next.
